Charlie Cifus Fletcher, of Liberty, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at his home. He was 89 years of age.
Charlie was born on December 26, 1932, in Casey County, son of the late Alex Corbet and Eula Lee Fletcher. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Charlie was a welder by trade. He loved to hunt, fish and ride horses. Charlie was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and was a member of the Casey County Pork Producers.
He is survived by his wife of over 66 years, Emma Jean McFarland Fletcher; his sons, Tony (and Mary) Fletcher and Terry Fletcher, both of Colorado; his daughter, Pamela (and Stacey) Cochran, of Liberty; six grandchildren, Casey, Charlie, Ben, Hannah, Bekah and Amanda; and eight great-grandchildren, Remi, Tony, Zoey, Henry, Maddie, Mikey, Landon and Layla.
Along with his parents, Charlie is preceded in death by his son, Johnnie Dewayne Fletcher; his brother, Earl Fletcher; his three sisters, Hazel Phillips, Elizabeth Hamm and Gayle Wilson; and one grandson, Romaine Bonsaint.
Funeral Services are 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2022, at McKinney-Brown Funeral home, with Bro. George Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Whited Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the Casey County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at McKinney Brown Funeral Home, and will resume after 8:00 a.m., Thursday, until time for services.
