Buel Dean McDonald, of Dunnville, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Russell County Hospital. He was 87. Born on October 21, 1938, in Taylor County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Granville and Ophillia Tungate McDonald.
Buel was a long-time farmer and mechanic. He was an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Garrett McDonald; a daughter, Donna (and Floyd) Thomas of Nashville; stepchildren, Gary Schubert and Chris Schubert, both of Liberty; grandchildren, Brandie Skaggs and Brandon Holt; great-granddaughter, Riley Skaggs; seven step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. Other survivors include two brothers, George McDonald and David McDonald, both of Campbellsville; a special nephew, Henry Burress of Elkhorn; and a special grandson, Brandon Schubert of Dunnville.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Nicholas McDonald, Phillip McDonald, Joseph McDonald, and Vonald McDonald; and sisters, Burdis Burress, Gracie Brown, and Merline Foster.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Lavender and Judy Patten officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
