Brenda Luttrell Obituary

Mrs. Brenda Akin Luttrell of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Curtis and Audrey Pickett Akin, was born on June 21, 1947 in Green County, Kentucky. She departed this life on Monday, September 19, 2022 at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville having attained the age of 75 years, two months and 29 days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Jennie’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Luttrell, on June 9, 2003.

Brenda had been employed by the Head Start program and in the physical therapy department at Taylor Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and loved Jesus, her family and purses. She especially enjoyed shopping and using the Amazon app to order what she wanted, which was then delivered directly to her at the nursing home. Her home for the past couple years had been Green Hill Nursing and Rehab. She loved her time at Green Hill and she brought joy to those who not only work there, but those who call it home as well.

Survivors include two daughters: Karen Allen of Lexington and Lisa Milby of Greensburg; one step-son: Steve Luttrell of Casey County; four grandchildren: Joseph Tucker of Hodgenville, Jamie and Derek Benningfield of Campbellsville, Stephanie Buchanan of Greensburg, and Jacob and Samantha Buchanan of Little Barren; one step-granddaughter: Kasey Luttrell of Danville; five great-grandchildren: Kelsea Murphy, Jack Tucker, Grayson Buchanan, Ronald Lee Hogge III and Mallory Buchanan; one step-great-grandson: Brody Luttrell; and two sisters: Carolyn Loyall of Greensburg and Connie and Gary Henderson of Summersville; plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son: Timmy Tucker on December 10, 1981 and one sister: Kathy Akin Compton on July 22, 2012.

The funeral services for Brenda Luttrell will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Central Time, Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Lile officiating.

Visitation is requested from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday and after 7:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
