Bill Emerson, of Liberty, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Waynesburg Healthcare and Rehab. He was 75.
Born on August 17, 1948, in Boyle County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Vertrice and Odra Dick Emerson. Bill retired from Borden Chemical. He was a member of Atwood’s Chapel Church. He enjoyed wagon riding, coon hunting, and carpentry.
He is survived by two sons, Chris (Kim) Emerson of Liberty and Randy (Karen) Emerson of Yosemite; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Tootie (Danny) Yaden of Liberty and his twin, Phyliss Kay Baxter of Stanford.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Emerson and Floyd Lee Emerson; and a sister, Anna Lou Belle.
The funeral service will be held privately for immediate family only. Burial will be held in Salyers Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Don Emerson, Randy Emerson, Chris Emerson, Dean Emerson, and Greg Yaden.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Salyers Cemetery Fund c/o Mt. Olive Church at 1974 St. Hwy. 837, Yosemite, KY 42566.
