Anna Cleland Allen

Anna Cleland Allen, formerly of Fairdale, KY, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025, at her home in New Albany.  She was 78.

She was born on April 20, 1947, Summerville, SC to the late Euie Jerome and Eula Mae Whaley Cleland.  Anna excelled at sales from 18 wheelers, real estate and finally, fine jewelry. Anna was a gifted artist who loved sharing her drawings, paintings and even children’s books with family and friends.  She had a magnetic, fun and witty personality which drew people to her.  Her favorite joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William Arvil “W.A.” Allen and her brother, Jerry Cleland.

Anna is survived by her daughters, Daphne Bonenberger (and David) of Waterloo, IL, Jennifer Justice (and John) of New Albany, IN and Angela McMillan (and Scott) of Gallatin, TN; her six grandchildren, Grant Hill (and Stephanie), Madeline Hill (and Rob), Gabriela Cushenan (and Jamie), Michael Justice, Zachary Bonenberger and Lucas Justice; and one great-grandchild on the way.

Funeral services will be at 1:00PM Friday, July 18, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Parton officiating. Burial will follow in Whited Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00PM to 1:00PM Friday, July 18, 2025, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Grant Hill, Michael Justice, Zachary Bonenberger, Lucas Justice, David Bonenberger and Scott McMillan.
