Allen Ernest Van Lenten, of Danville, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was 68.
Born on October 6, 1953, in Paterson, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Alfred and Margaret Van Lenten. Allen proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from Red Wing. He loved UK basketball and football, as well as the Yankees. Allen attended New Life Baptist Church in Danville.
He is survived by a step-daughter, Alitta (Chris) Burris Evans; sister-in-law, Vera Burris; step-grandchildren, Tyler Baylee Evans and Taylor Leann Evans; special friends, Mike Hawkins, Carolyn Hawkins, and Ellen Kessler; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Wendell Ann Burris Van Lenten, who passed away on August 24, 2020; mother-in-law, Anna Lee Burris; and brother-in-law, Marion Hall Burris.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Casey County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Chuck Robinson officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Casey County Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Chris Evans, Tyler Evans, Mike Hawkins, Thomas Burris, and Taylor Evans.
