Alberta Rose (McAninch) Moore

Alberta Rose McAninch Moore, of Grayson, Ky, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025, at her home. She was 74. 

She was born on December 21, 1950, in Stanford, KY. She was the daughter of the late Albert Rass McAninch and Geneva Morgan McAninch. Alberta was a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ of Grayson, KY. In addition to being a homemaker, Alberta had experience working as a mining engineering technician, land surveying, and doing environmental services. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved being with family, enjoyed gardening, cooking, talking, shopping, and sewing. Alberta was a sister and an aunt that loved her nieces and nephews very much. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Douglas D. Moore, who she wed on May 31, 1969; two sons, Marty (April) Moore and Robert Moore; eight grandchildren, Mollie (Brad) Moore-Settles, Magie (Greg) Mansour, Addie (Thomas) Loewen, Bradley (Emily) Moore, Gus Moore, Caitlyn Moore, Josh Moore, and Brady Moore; seven great-grandchildren, Felix Mansour, Mattheo Loewen, Vera Mansour, Florian Loewen, Rocco Mansour, Macie Moore, and Willow Scott; a sister, Dixie McAninch; three nieces Gayle (Darrin) Hill, Kelly (George) Rodgers, Andrea Moore, and nephews Joey (Patty) McAninch, Jamie McAninch, Brandon Sturgill, and Matt (Jen) Moore. Other survivors include a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many close friends and neighbors who adored and loved her dearly.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Elizabeth McAninch. 

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Watson Chapel Church, 929 Watson Chapel Rd, Liberty, KY 42539. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. 

The family will receive visitors from 6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. on Friday, November 28, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and from 11:00AM – 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Watson Chapel Church.
