Vitus Edward Emerson, of Liberty, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018, at Casey County Hospital in Liberty. He was 92.
Born on April 23, 1926, in Liberty, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Tommy and Jennie Monday Emerson. Vitus was a self-employed brick layer/ stone mason.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Tremblay of Liberty; a granddaughter, Tiffany Tremblay of Atlanta, Georgia; three brothers, Kermit Emerson of Indiana, Wayne Emerson of Campbellsville and Dale Emerson of Campbellsville; four sisters, Imogene Hayes of Liberty, Eula Ford of Campbellsville, Leona Hayes of Campbellsville and Velma Martin of Campbellsville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Vitus is preceded in death by eight sisters, Pat Bristow, Ruth Bryant, Chloe Lay, Syrilla Taylor, Gladys Wilson, Hazel Sharp, Dorothy Emerson and Beatrice Emerson; and two brothers, Stanley Emerson and Hafford Emerson.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Brother Morris Bryant officiating. A private burial will follow in Whited Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
