Terry "Cobb" Allen Obituary

Terry “Cobb” Allen of Liberty, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019.  He was 67 years of age.

Born December 18, 1951, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Millard L. and Alene Ewing Allen. Cobb, as known by many, was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church. He was a master electrician and former owner/operator of M.T.A. Electric. Cobb was skilled with his hands which was reflected in his woodworking, model cars, and craft projects. He was a talented musician and former member of The Believers gospel group. He enjoyed a good laugh or joke, often being told during his time in the mornings at The Village restaurant or daily at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Cobb enjoyed golf and loved all animals, especially his cats. He was a former Assistant Chief and Firefighter for the Liberty Fire Department.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Vickie Lay Allen; three daughters, Francie Allen (and Steve Blakeman), Heather (Steven) Brown, and Hannah (Tyler) Martin, all of Liberty; one son, Tyler (Melissa) VanAllen of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; one brother, Jerry (Shellie) Allen of Liberty; four sisters, Carolyn (Ralph) Kearney of Cox’s Creek, Kentucky, Wanda VanWeelden of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jeannie (David) Allen of Liberty, and Dottie Gail (Gerald) Wethington of Liberty; six grandchildren, Will, Noah, Reece, Sadie, Allen, and Braxton; and his mother-in-law, Doris Lay of Liberty.

There will be a visitation from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 PM on Monday, April 15, 2019, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Funeral services and burial at Glenwood Cemetery will be held privately.
