Ruth Jasper Cravens, of Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Liberty Care and Rehab. She was 76.
Born on February 9, 1943, in Mintonville, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Kiah and Alberta Wilson Jasper. Ruth worked at Casey County Hospital in Environmental Services. At a young age, Ruth accepted Christ as her savior at Carter Ridge Baptist Church. She was a member of Watson’s Chapel Christian Church and also attended Cornerstone Baptist Church until her health prevented attendance. Her faith was deep and enduring.
She is survived by a daughter, Gloria C. Hammond of Nancy; a son, Gilbert D. (Sandy) Cravens of Liberty; and two grandchildren, MaKayla and Cathleen. Other survivors include three great-grandchildren; four nephews; a niece; and a sister in law, Margaret Jasper of Nancy.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Wallace; a brother, Elza Jasper; and four infant siblings.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 12, 2019, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 12, 2019, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
