Mildred Jones, of Danville, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at James B. Haggin Hospital in Harrodsburg. She was 79. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. Mildred was a devout Evangelist and a prayer warrior for anyone that had a need. She was an all-around wonderful Mother.
Born on June 16, 1939, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Gilmer and Molly Gadberry. Mildred was a homemaker.
Mildred is survived by two daughters, Edith (and J.D.) Case of Burgin and Judy (and Barry) Johnson of Hustonville; three sons, Danny (and Jorene) Gadberry of Danville, Jerry (and Barbara) Jones of Harrodsburg and Cecil Jones, Jr. of Danville; twelve grandchildren; and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. Other survivors include two sisters, Shirley (and Boyd) Wesley of Danville and Ruby Dick of Pulaski County; a daughter-in-law, Mary Kay Jones of Danville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Jones, Sr., who passed away on June 4, 1989; a son, Randy Jones; four sisters; and six brothers.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 5, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. John Penick officiating. Burial will follow in Spaw Cemetery.
The family of Ms. Jones will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 5, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
Ms. Jones’ pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.
