Martha Lanham Obituary

Martha Stevens Lanham, of Franklin, Tennessee, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at Williamson Medical Center. She was 78.

Born on August 2, 1941 in Liberty, Indiana, Martha was a daughter of the late Stanley Allen and Fannie Belle Johnson Stevens. Martha graduated from Loveland High School in 1959 where she was active in sports. In addition to being a loving and dedicated wife and mother, Martha was a faithful Pastor’s wife, as well as a secretary and homemaker. She was a member of the First Church of God where she served for five years as President of the Women’s Missionary Society in Tennessee and as International Secretary for five years. She had friends in all 50 states and was known and loved throughout many countries of the world. Most importantly, Martha was a beloved Daughter of the King and faithfully served him with her whole heart.

Martha is survived by her husband, Leslie “Gene” Lanham, who she wed on January 22, 1960. Martha and Gene grew up 3 houses from each other on the Little Miami River in Loveland, Ohio, and have known each other for 72 years. She is also survived by a son, Scott Allen (Teresa) Lanham of Phoenix, Arizona, and a daughter, Lisa Lynn (Rick) Florian of Franklin, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Clayton Ross Lanham, Lily Erin Florian, and Jack Parker Florian; three step-grandchildren, Taylor Florian, Will (Ashley) Florian, and Hunter Florian; and three step-great grandchildren, Milana Florian, Haven Florian, and Hans Florian. Other survivors include a sister, Anita (Jerry) Rice of Hamilton, Ohio; and four brothers, Henry Allen (Pauline) Stevens of Loveland, Ohio, Floyd Douglas (Ruth) Stevens of Mason, Ohio, Cordes Cecil (Vickie) Stevens of Ross, Ohio, and James (Linda) Stevens of Northern Kentucky.

In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by a sister, Iona Martin.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Lanhamtown Cemetery.  The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Lanhamtown Cemetery and mailed c/o Tracie Fair, 65 Lanhamtown Cemetery Road, Liberty, KY 42539, marked “for donation.”
