Lela Mae Murphy Land of Liberty, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at her home. She was ninety-two years and six months of age.
Born September 9, 1925 in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late William Henry and Emma Wethington Murphy. Lela was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Separate Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Rayburn (Vicky) Land of Lebanon, Indiana; one daughter, Phyllis Williams of Liberty; one daughter-in-law, Judy Land of Pittsboro, Indiana; six grandchildren, Kelley Herron, Lisa Blair, Christopher Zollner, Amy Bramblett, Sherry Norman and Tony Land; seven great-grandchildren, Blake, Katelyn, Chelsea, Nicolas, Courtney, Logan and Mason; and five great-great grandchildren, Claire, Owen, Kyndall, Liam and Leland.
In addition to her parents, Lela was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Henry Land, who passed away March 16, 2002; one son, Garland Dale Land; five brothers, Walter, Stanley, Ray, Clem, and Earl; and four sisters, Etta, Adelle, Kathleen, and Josephine.
Funeral services are 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 12, 2018 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Brother Sam Warner officiating. Burial will follow in Green River Valley Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 P.M. Sunday evening at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
Lela’s pallbearers will be Chris Zollner, Tony Land, Mason Zollner, Nicolas Zollner, Robert Norman, and Jason Downs.
