Junior “Lewis” Black, 85, of Windsor, Kentucky, passed away June 15, 2019, at Liberty Care and Rehabilitation Center in Liberty, Kentucky.
He was born on January 5, 1934, in Casey County, to the late James William “Willie” Black and Sophia J. Tartar Black. He married Polly Mae “Dolly” Chadwell on January 15, 1955, and they spent most of their married life near Franklin, Indiana. Lewis worked for Arvin Industries until retirement. In 2003, Lewis and Polly moved to Windsor, Kentucky. Lewis was of the Baptist faith. He was also a former member of the Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star.
Lewis is survived by his two sons, Keith (Sandy) Black of Bloomington, Indiana, and Kenneth (Debbie) Black of Lexington, South Carolina; a daughter, Linda Owens of Windsor, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Susie (Andy) Woomer, Brian Black, Kristina (Cory) Via, Jeremy (Ashlyn) Black, Amanda (Jay) Brigman, and Angelia Butler (Mike Harmon); and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Lewis was preceded in death by his wife Polly, who passed away May 7, 2017; a grandson, Kristopher Black; five brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services are 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Brother Johnny Maupin officiating. Burial will follow in South Fork Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Monday, June 17, 2019, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
