Joyce Elaine Hatfield, of Liberty, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. She was 69.
Born on May 27, 1948, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Elmer Irvin and Violet Irene Randolph Wood. Joyce was a retired hairdresser. She loved to sing, read and spend time with her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Angela (Scott) Mercer of Andersonville, Tennessee; three sisters, Irma Parton, Leona (Joe Wethington) Perkins and Mary (Freddie) Cook, all of Liberty; and two brothers, Timothy (Glenda) Wood of Powhaton, Virginia and Stephen (Shirley) Wood of Liberty. Other survivors include two grandchildren, Kirsten Elaine Mercer and Michael Scott Mercer, both of Andersonville, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Roy Hatfield, who passed away on July 14, 2013.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Josh Harness officiating. Cremation rites will follow.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
