Jimmy Tapscott of Liberty, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at his home. He was 68 years of age.
Born August 3, 1950, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late James and Bertha Long Tapscott. Jimmy was a retired machine operator for ATR Wire and Cable. He was saved and baptized in the Christian faith. Jimmy loved driving his cars, riding his motorcycles, and hanging out at McDonalds.
Survivors include one son, Michael Tapscott and fiancé, April Mullins, of Danville; one sister, Rose Peyton of Liberty; four brothers, Otis Tapscott, Shirley Tapscott, and Ronnie (Debbie) Tapscott all of Liberty, and Oval (Brenda) Tapscott of Campbellsville. Jimmy was also survived by two grandsons, Lane and Brady.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Long.
Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Brother Gale Durham officiating. Burial will follow in Tapscott Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M-2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Those serving as Jimmy’s pallbearers are: Chris Bryant, Lane Tapscott, Brady Tapscott, Danny Tapscott, Chris Tapscott, and Greg Tapscott.
Cecil Hatter, Melvin Cravens, and Jack Richardson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
