James Raymond Followell

James Raymond Followell of Liberty, Kentucky passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the Russell County Hospital.  He was 54 years of age.

Born November 18, 1963 in Marion County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Elzie and Kathleen Ramsey Followell.  James was a self-employed woodworker.  He loved country music, dancing, and gardening.  James also liked going to the dirt track races.

Survivors include two brothers, Foster (Pat) Followell and Robert (Leeann) Followell both of Casey County; seven sisters, Juanita Followell of Taylor County, Mary Allen of Casey County, Nancy (Nathan) Dewitt of Marion County, Glenda (Jesse) Shoopman of Casey County, Eunice (Keith) Miller of Marion County, Rachel (Thomas) Long of Taylor County, and Edna Shreve of Taylor County; a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Cox and Margie Richards.

Funeral services are 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 21, 2018 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses or to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
