Garland “Tubby” Richardson of Yosemite passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Casey County Hospital. He was 81 years of age.
Born July 9, 1936 in Casey County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Arnold and Geneva Patterson Richardson. Tubby was a self-employed equipment operator but was considered as a “jack of all trades.” He was a man of many talents. He loved playing his guitar and singing.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Mary Jo Wheeler Richardson, whom he married on April 21, 1956; two daughters, Deborah Meece of Yosemite, and Angela (Brad) Luttrell of Dunnville; five grandchildren, Danny G., Tori, Jami, Justin, and Becky; and five great-grandchildren, Clara, Memphis, Maci, Tucker, and Westin. Tubby is also survived by two sisters, Iva Dean Strevels and Zonia Ree Benson, both of Liberty.
In addition to his parents, Tubby is preceded in death by a son, Gregory Garland Richardson and one sister, Alberta Richardson.
Funeral services are 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Brother Jim Luttrell officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-9:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
Danny G. Pendleton, Justin Pendleton, Brad Luttrell, Daniel Riddle, Jamey Maupin, Michael Lawhorn, Danny Pendleton, and Greg Pendleton will serve as Tubby’s pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are: Jami, Tori and the great-grandchildren.
