Elmer C. Wilhelm, of Liberty, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at his residence. He was 94.
Born on May 26, 1925, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Elbert and Florence Wheeler Wilham. Elmer retired from Complete Auto Transit as a truck driver. He is a United States Coast Guard WWll veteran that served in the Battle of Okinawa. After his time in the Coast Guard, Elmer enjoyed farming, woodworking, and antiquing.
He is survived by his wife, Seleta Gilpin Wilhelm of Liberty, who he wed on September 26, 1947; a son, Bruce (Gatha) Wilhelm of Liberty; a daughter, Debbie (Don) Lewis of Somerset; four grandchildren, Rodney, Steven, Ryan, and Mark; five great-grandchildren, Austin, Brad, Shawn, Logan, and Sarah; and one great-great grandchild, Braylon.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Lilbern Wilhelm and David Wilham.
The funeral service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, January 6, 2020, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately in Antioch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Monday, January 6, 2020, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
