Elizabeth Hopper Emerson, of Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at her residence. She was 82.
Born on September 25, 1936, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Ruel and Maude Davenport Hopper. Elizabeth was a member of South Fork Separate Baptist Church. She loved cooking, quilting, sewing, gardening and working on the farm.
She is survived by her husband, Killis Emerson, who she wed on September 6, 1952; two daughters, Wanda (Bill) Whited and Kathie (Donnie) Poff, both of Liberty; and a son, Russell (Peggi) Emerson of New Richmond, Ohio. Additional survivors include four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Eva Ruth Weir of Vincennes, Indiana.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Arvis Hopper.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 9, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Troy Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in South Fork Cemetery.
The family of Mrs. Emerson will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
