Dean Vannoy of Sanders Ridge Road, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at the Casey County Hospital. He was 84 years of age.
Born October 2, 1934, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Wayne and Marie Goode Vannoy. Mr. Vannoy was a farmer and of the Baptist faith. He was well known for raising watermelons and cantaloupes. During the Korean War era, Mr. Vannoy was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served as an engineer.
Survivors include two brothers, Wayne Vannoy Jr. of Columbia and Ronald Vannoy of Wilmore; one sister, Inez Cain of Liberty; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Cold Springs Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
