Clifton “Buddy” McQueary, of Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2019, at his residence. He was 73.
Born on June 17, 1946, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Lee Otis, Sr. and Nettie Knight McQueary. Buddy was a sawmill worker. He enjoyed ginseng digging, watching tv and loved his animals.
He is survived by two sons, David McQueary of Tennessee and Clifton McQueary of Lancaster; three sisters, Wanda Wilham of Danville, Mary (Billy) Mills of Liberty and Joann Rodgers of Liberty; a brother, Leon (Pam) McQueary of Liberty; and a host of grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Sherry Eads and Irene Peavley; and five brothers, Farley McQueary, Marvin McQueary, Paul McQueary, Junior McQueary and James McQueary.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Maupin officiating. Burial will follow in Old Contown Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 27, 2019, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Darrell McQueary, Mike McQueary, Chris McQueary, Roger McQueary, Greg McQueary and Michael Paul McQueary.
