Christine Hansford Obituary

Christine Smith Hansford of Liberty, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Casey County Hospital. She was 89 years of age.

Born February 25, 1929 in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late John Jacob and Mary Ellis Dick Smith. Christine was a wonderful wife and mother. She was a member of Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church and former employee of Liberty Sportswear.

Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda Burton of Liberty; one brother, Ancil Smith of Indiana; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Edgar Hansford, who passed away October 27, 1991; one son, William Dean Hansford; three brothers, Buster, Oscar, and William Smith; six sisters, Manilla Ellison, Rella Hines, Della McAninch, Dean Hinson, Ora Gadberry, and Marie Drostie; and one great-grandchild.

Cremation rites were honored by McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gideon’s International.
